Our goal is to ensure that everyone can safely connect on Btrfly. Unfortunately, we cannot control the behavior of all users. That’s why it’s important not to switch to another social network for communication. We recommend staying in our dating app’s chat, where you are protected.
Be especially cautious if someone insists on moving the conversation to another platform (WhatsApp, Messenger, or Discord). This is most likely a scammer. In Btrfly, you are protected within a secure chat, and we will always notify you if someone takes a screenshot of your conversation or an image you sent. If this happens, you will receive an alert. When sharing personal information online, always consider whether the person is trustworthy. If you chat through Btrfly, you don’t need to share your phone number or social media profile with anyone. Remember, once you share your personal details, it’s much harder to get rid of someone than simply ending the conversation in Btrfly.
If someone pressures you to share such sensitive information, block or report them immediately. There’s a high chance they are a scammer.
At any point in the communication that you are uncomfortable with, you can contact us, report or block the person.
That's why it's very important that as a user you don't leave the Btrfly app and go to another communication platform like Messenger or WhatsApp. In that case, we can't protect you. If you have any problem, feel free to contact our support at support@btrfly.com.
